Summer holidays officially begin!!
There are 2 kids in this house who are pretty happy about that fact! Yesterday afternoon there were severe thunderstorms here and tornado warnings, so when the bell rang at 3:30 the kids were being held captive until the warning ended...unless you went into the school to release them yourself. Since it was raining Jade and I decided to be nice and pick Mark up from school, so it was really odd that after the bell rang there wasn't the normal stampede of kids running through the catwalk to get the heck out of there! We thought that maybe they were just sad that they weren't going to be back for 2 months. Finally after about 5 min, the kids started coming out, but it really felt like an April day not like the last day of school.During the thunderstorm Jade decided she would like to bake something. So see looked through her cookbook and chose Chocolate Crispies. Which are Corn Flakes smothered in chocolate and corn syrup!
Licking the bowl is her favourite part. Before she starts baking she's asking if she can lick the bowl, and during the baking she asks if she can "lick it now" after each ingredient is added to the bowl.
Mark thought since it was summer he would like to kick it off with a sleepover with Jake. The boys went bike riding, swimming here and at the neighbours and then drew pictures until 11:30 last night. They were back at it at 8:30 this morning. They love to draw, and it's really nice that it's something they both enjoy to do when they are together.
I am so proud of the kids. They both got excellent report cards and now they are in Grade 5 and Grade 1.
