With the snow gone and the sun shining, Mark pulled his bike out of the garage this week. He has been riding all over the place. It's a little hard for us to let him just go, but he's going to be 10 and he wants his independence. So off he goes looking for friends to ride with. Mike's yelling behind him "Watch for cars. Stop at the corners. Look both ways." Yes, we are somewhat paranoid!! Even though we both were riding freely around our neighbours when we were 10!
It was strange to see him riding with a bunch of friends down the street. They were riding side by side, stretched across the road yelling "Where do you want to go?"
Where was he going to go?
I breath a sigh of relief everytime he walks in the door safe and sound.

It is so hard to let them go ...
I bet it's exciting for him to have that little bit of freedom now. It was different when we got to ride freely, drivers were more aware and cautious of the fact that there were children running aound. Now everyone is in a hurry to get nowhere!!
