The week between Christmas and New Year's brought a little road trip for our family and Pam's family. On Monday we met in Columbus, Ohio and attended a Blue Jackets vs. Red Wings game. It was my first NHL game and I really enjoyed it. Jacket's won 1-0 in OT. On Tuesday we got up and finished the drive to Tennessee and our cabin Dances With Stars. The weather was low 40's which is still cold but warmer than home!
Mark was the only boy in a group of 5 kids! He and Kaitlyn have always clicked and, even though Jessica is only 2 weeks younger than him, it's Kaitlyn who he is with most. They played a lot of pool and air hockey. If there was a basketball net available they would have done that too!
Jade and Emily set up camp in this little corner of the loft upstairs. They slept on the floor for 4 nights, even though there was a king size bed on the other side of the wall. Kaitlyn had it all to herself! We put all the kids up on this top floor and they had a blast up there!
Outside on the deck, there was a 102 degree hottub. When everyone came back inside we played games and watched movies. We played a new game called Doodle Dice which was a big hit for the kids and the moms.
Jade and Emily were planning big things for New Year's Eve. They had raffles and stations set up all over the game room. There was the "Chatting Area" the "Beer Area" and the "Snack Shack" They made up raffle tickets and filled a bowl with confetti that they planned on dumping on us from the top floor. They stole all the snacks and hid them for the party!
This was our cabin. It was on top of a mountain in Pigeon Forge. When we first arrived it was dark out and it looked like we were driving along a dirt road in the woods. In the daylight you could see how close we were to the edge of the cliff that, when you looked over, you could see a long, long drop to your imminent death. I was literally white knuckling it on the way up and down the mountain - especially in 2 very creepy sections. I said "Slow Down!" constantly. Mike thought it was hilarious and would scream a blood curdling scream which made everyone but me laugh! The only thing I will not miss about that trip is the side of that mountain!

It looks and sounds like fun! Love the cabin ... I am sure the kids loved their lofty hide-a-way!
Cool cabin! Sounds like a fun trip! Well, except the edge-of-the-cliff, hurdling-to-your-death thing. :)
