Mexico

Our last tour of the week was in Cancun, Mexico. The ship docked at Cozumel so we had to take a 45 min ferry ride to the mainland and then a bus ride for about an hour. This was our least favourite tour, although we loved seeing Cancun. It was the 2 hours to get there and the 2 hours back we didn't enjoy. The ferry ride was very rough, leaving most of us feeling nauseous. I felt very bad for some people who actually started vomitting. We looked out the window to try and keep our stomaches in line with the movement outside. Cancun is a tourist town with large beachfront hotels. We picked out a few we would love to stay in! We saw Julio Iglasius' home. It is smack dab in between 2 huge resorts.
Mike wishes that our malls gave everyone a shot of tequila when you walked in the door, like this one in Mexico did.

It was soooooo windy in Cancun. The guide told us that this beach where we stopped was normally calm but today the waves were large and sand was whipping all over the place. I got a sense of what it must feel like when a hurricane is approaching. When we were leaving the ship Mark's hat blew off his head and landed right in the water. He was soooooo sad, it was one of his favourite hats. If you ask Jade where his hat is she will tell you "In the Seven Seas"

These barstools cracked me up! They were in a restaurant called Senor Frogs. In the hallway to the washrooms, there were toilets hanging on the walls. Mike was teasing Jade and told her that she had to use one of those toilets. You could tell the wheels were turning in her mind. A short while later she was using a real toilet and she asks "Mom, did you fall for that about the toilet?" When I asked her if she fell for it, she said "Kinda"

When our ferry got back to Cozumel it was going on 7pm. Mike took this shot of our ship all lit up.
