Jade the Gymnast

This week at gymnastics, the parents could bring their cameras in and take shots of our little gymnasts in action! Jade is in the advanced program which teaches form and the girls really look like they are gymnasts. Below Jade is jumping on the beam. She had to do a front roll on the beam (which is gymnastic term for somersault) and then a cartwheel off the end. Oh my! I couldn't believe it! She didn't do a real cartwheel off the end of the beam, but it sure was a pretty good attempt! She's doing amazing cartwheels now, and it's so funny to watch her when she does her walk... She has to keep her legs straight and she keeps hers soooooo straight they look they are made of wood.
The uneven bars! She swings on these like she's a monkey in a tree!. Below is her coach Kim. She is so sweet. Jade has been with her for a couple of years now.

The other neat thing she does, that's fun to watch, is she runs fast towards a mat and then she puts her hands on the mat and flips her whole body right over! She's quite flexible! Believe me, when you watch her do the splits it looks painful, but she insists it's not!!
